The Silver Cabinet has dated this Victorian Brass Inkwell Stand to the Victorian era.
The surrounding border has a further six detailed pictures interspersed with winged creatures and torches. It is marked to the base with Elkington & Co and numbered 941 and will date c1850.

There is a plain circular glass container for ink which is in excellent condition. The silver plating has been worn in places, allowing the copper to shine through and overall, with the gilded inner ring, there is a wonderful warmth to this piece. An excellent item.
