In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Coffers are among the earliest forms of domestic furniture, traditionally used in medieval and post-medieval households for storing valuables, textiles, and documents before built-in closets became common.

Authentic period coffers are typically constructed from solid English oak using frame-and-panel joinery, secured with pegged tenons and hand-wrought iron hinges.

Authenticity is indicated by hand-split timber grain, adze marks on internal surfaces, hand-forged ironwork, and natural oxidisation and wear consistent with age.

An oak coffer provides functional storage while adding historical texture; it can be used at the foot of a bed, beneath a window, or as a focal point in a hallway.

Preserve the timber by maintaining stable humidity levels away from direct heat sources, applying occasional microcrystalline wax, and avoiding harsh chemical polishes.
