Large and impressive pair of early C20th French or Italian carved giltwood twin branch wall-lights or appliqués in the mid C17th Louis XIV manner.
Powerful pair of wall-lights in carved wood with well-detailed decoration and with gilded surface. The tops with sun-mask or sun-God motifs , the shaped bodies with central vacant carved cartouches and trailing husk details. The shaped twin arms with ''stiff-leaf'' carving and carved bobeches and knozzles.
In excellent condition, with no breaks damage or repairs. The gilding of a subtle aged patina.
Supplied with their original aged ''candle-wax dripped'' papier-mâché lamp covers.
In need of rewiring, which could be done to client''s specifications.
