Robert Bush Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
It stands on 4 decorative paw feet and a shaped base with engraved patterns all round.

At the top of the column there are 2 very decorative winged figures sitting on scrolls in the shape of fish.
At the top is a beautiful shaped and engraved Viennese bowl with flower patterns in the deep red glass.

The bowl is 10 1/2” (27 cm) across and is in superb condition with just a couple of very minor chips underneath the rim which are hardly noticeable
At the base is the hallmark for Vienna 1867 – 1872 so the piece certainly dates from that period and it weighs 785 grams without the glass dish.

There is also the mark VC which stands for the famous and important Viennese silversmith Vincenz Czokally who worked and produced superior quality items.
This is all round a beautiful antique item in excellent condiiton which would be a very impressive addition to any collection.
