An Extremely Fine Mid-late Victorian Silver Gilt and Cut Glass Perfume Bottle by George Brace of London

19th century
Description

This is an extremely fine mid to late Victorian silver gilt perfume bottle. It is only hallmarked with George Brace of London's maker's mark. He was active between 1859 and 1892.

It has a cut glass body, and the lid has an engraved monogram. It is hung on a gilded chain.

It weighs 119g.

It is in good general condition. I have noticed one small chip to the cut glass. It is possible there might be another as it is really hard to see. The hinge and clasp on the lid works well, as does the screw top. It had a small glass disc which was held inside the stopper to provide a seal. This has been lost.
