Description

An excellent example of a Victorian silver mounted cologne bottle. This wonderful piece has a pierced silver collar and hinged lid with floral and foliar decoration. To the top is a cartouche with the original monogram.

The body is globe shaped and cut glass with hobnail and facet cutting. To the inside is a stopper and the interior of the lid is gilded.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents, splits or holes to the silver and no cracks or chips to the glass.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Maker :- Henry Matthews.

Diameter :- 10.5 cms. (widest point).

Height :- 13 cms.

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
