Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The key when turned operates the very unusual mechanism, with the interior of the caddy falling to allow access to the three cut crystal decanters.

The three cut crystal decanters are the original, with the top two thirds cut in the ever-popular hobnail design, all topped with three multi-faceted original stoppers, all in excellent condition.
The underside of the Oak frame is mounted with a shield shaped plaque, bearing the silversmith's makers mark for BOURNE & O'NEILL of Birmingham, a partnership of Henry Bourne and Daniel J. O'Neill.

Fabulous quality and condition, the footprint measuring 14" x 6" and standing 14 3/4" tall to top of handle. Each bottle has a base measurement of 3 1/4" square x 9" tall to top of stoppers.
