Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver photo frames were produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910) and are characterised by lighter, more graceful designs than Victorian predecessors. They frequently display silver facings stamped with ribbons, swags, shells, or whiplash lines, reflecting the influence of the Art Nouveau movement.

These frames typically consist of a thin sheet of hallmarked sterling silver silver-stamped front panel secured to a solid hardwood backboard, often oak or mahogany, with an integrated easel stand and velvet or silk interior linings.

Authentic pieces carry British hallmarks stamped directly onto the silver front panel, including the lion passant for sterling silver, an assay office mark, a date letter corresponding to the early 1900s, and a makers mark.

Silver frames are placed on sideboards, mantelpieces, and bedside tables to add metallic warmth and texture. They function well within layered gallery displays alongside modern art or paired with dark timber surfaces.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and polish silver surfaces occasionally using a soft cotton cloth and silver polish, avoiding contact with the wooden backboard or interior fabric.
