This Victorian sterling silver bachelor size teapot exhibits a globe-shaped body with an embossed surface of flowers and hand-chased scrollwork motifs. Two cartouches adorn the body, one blank and the other engraved with initials and the year 1891. A hinged lid with a crimped style border sits atop the vessel, finished with a black turned wood knop. The piece includes a tapering circular spout and an ebonised wooden scroll handle. The object measures 9.5 cm high and 10.8 cm wide. Practical for daily use or display, the teapot suits a sideboard top in a dining room or living space within an English Country House interior. The silver finish reflects light across the ornate floral engraving, complementing traditional tableware settings.

A bachelor teapot is a small-capacity teapot, typically designed to hold one to two cups of tea for single-person use during the late 19th century.

Victorian teapots were crafted from sterling silver, often fitted with heat-resistant ebonised wood or resin handles and top knops to protect hands from heat conductivity.

Authentic pieces feature hallmark stamps including a lion passant for sterling silver quality, an assay office mark, a maker mark, and a date letter corresponding to the Victorian reign between 1837 and 1901.

Antique silver teapots can be displayed on a sideboard, integrated into a curated kitchen dresser, or positioned on a drinks tray within a living space.

Clean silver teapots regularly with a soft cotton cloth and specialised silver polish, avoiding abrasive pads or dishwashers to prevent scratching and preserve dark oxidisation in recessed details.
