FAQs

Art Deco desk lamps originated during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by streamlined geometric forms, polished metallic surfaces, and functional task illumination influenced by Machine Age design.

These lamps typically feature chrome, nickel-plated metal, or brass bases combined with molded frosted glass, stepped Bakelite elements, and tubular structural supports.

Authentic period examples often feature cast metal weighted bases, original push-button or toggle switches, era-appropriate switch housing, and geometric tubular frame constructions.

Place the lamp on an office desk, console table, or side cabinet to serve as functional task lighting while adding a sculptural metallic accent to the room.

Dust chrome components regularly with a soft microfibre cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the plating, and ensure all vintage electrical wiring is inspected by a qualified electrician.
