FAQs

Art Deco lighting from the 1920s and 1930s emphasizes geometric shapes, streamlined forms, stepped profiles, and industrial materials like chrome, nickel, and pressed or frosted glass.

Fixtures from this period frequently utilised chrome-plated brass or nickel mounts combined with moulded, mottled, etched, or frosted glass shades.

Authentic pieces generally display original stepped gallery metalwork, cast or pressed shades with hand-finished detailing, and period-appropriate threaded or stepped shade fittings.

Pendant lights of this style function effectively in hallways, stairwells, or suspended above kitchen islands and dining tables to add architectural structure to modern spaces.

Glass shades should be removed and gently washed in warm soapy water, while metal stems and galleries should be dusted with a dry microfibre cloth to preserve plated finishes.
