Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated this Carved Alabaster Table Lamp to the 1930s.
Above rises a turned and moulded neck, giving the lamp an elegant and well-balanced silhouette.

Raised on a turned socle and square plinth, resting upon a substantial stepped alabaster base, the lamp is fashioned from beautifully figured white alabaster with subtle cream and grey veining throughout.

The design draws inspiration from classical Greco-Roman decorative forms, lending the piece a timeless architectural quality.
Retaining its brass bulb holder and original-style wire shade support, this is a particularly decorative example which would sit equally comfortably in a traditional country house interior or a more contemporary setting.
Condition: Good decorative condition, with natural variations in the alabaster, minor surface marks and wear consistent with age.
