This nineteenth-century Gustavian style long stool functions as a practical bench or footstool in a bedroom, sitting room or hallway, suited for placement at the foot of a bed. The piece has a rectangular form upholstered in a pale cream linen top with traditional button tufting, bordered by a neat line of small brass nailheads around the lower cushion edge. Beneath this sits a long wooden frame finished in a distressed pale grey paint with a weathered glaze and visible signs of age.
