This solid sterling silver Stilton cheese scoop dates from the Art Deco period of the 1920s and exhibits a polished silver colour throughout. The object presents a smooth tapered handle that terminates in a stepped pyramid finial with a tiny spherical knob at the very top, while the opposite end transitions into a deep, oblong scoop blade with rounded edges. Hallmarks reading DENMARK STERLING appear alongside the Georg Jensen maker marks used between 1915 and 1932. Measuring 17.5 cm in length, the utensil is free from dings, splits, and repairs. In a modern home, this serving utensil finds a practical place on a dining table or sideboard top during formal meals, cheese courses, and dinner parties for portioning Stilton or hard cheeses. The classic geometric styling complements both period silver collections and contemporary tableware setups.

Designed in 1926 by Harald Nielsen, the Pyramid pattern is an iconic Art Deco silver design influenced by the discovery of Tutankhamuns tomb and the eras fascination with geometric forms.

These utensils were typically crafted from solid sterling silver (925 purity) or silver plate, featuring cast handles and polished trough-style blades for serving.

Authentic pieces carry official stamped hallmarks, including the oval Georg Jensen makers mark, the 925S sterling purity mark, and often specific pattern design numbers.

Silver serving pieces can be displayed on a sideboard tray, incorporated into high-end table settings, or paired with contemporary slate and wooden cheese boards.

Clean gently using a specialized silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive pads or dishwashers, and store in tarnish-resistant cloth bags.
