Victorian Silver Vesta Case

Description

A good example of an antique Sterling Silver vesta case. It is decorated with engraved leaves around a shield cartouche. It has a hinged lid and a ribbed base for striking. It is good quality and well made, weighing approximately 24g.

It is clearly hallmarked for Chester, 1900 and the maker William Aitken

It is in good condition with a clear hallmark. There are no major damages and it displays well. There are signs of age and use and some faint surface marks and minor dinks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
