Antique 19th Century Mahogany Side Cabinet Bookcase

Description

An antique glazed mahogany bookcase, of attractive and practical form. Constructed in mahogany, the bookcase features a pair of glazed doors with decorative geometric glazing bars, opening to reveal adjustable shelves. The shelves have grooves to the rear, allowing plates and other items to be displayed securely. The bookcase is finished with a moulded cornice incorporating fine detail and stands on shaped bracket feet. Complete with its working lock and key.

CONDITION REPORT:

In fair antique condition, commensurate with age and use. There is a crack to one pane of glass, as pictured, together with damage to the front left shaped foot. There are various marks, scratches and areas of staining throughout, with some fading to the finish of the glazed doors. There is a crack to one of the glass panels. The shelves are adjustable and remain in good usable condition, with the plate grooves intact. The doors open and close correctly and the bookcase is complete with its working lock and key. Overall, a fair example of its kind with good proportions and decorative glazing.
