Antique Stained Pine Large Blanket Box

Description

An antique stained pine large blanket box, of particularly large proportions. Constructed in pine, the box has a simple rectangular form with a broad hinged lid and substantial plinth base. The exterior has a dark, aged finish, contrasting nicely with the lighter natural pine visible to the interior of the lid and storage compartment. The lid opens to reveal a generous storage space, making this a particularly useful piece for blankets, linen or use as a coffee table.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition, commensurate with age and use. The box has an attractive, aged appearance with variation in colour and surface character throughout. There are various marks, scratches, knocks and areas of wear, particularly to the edges and corners, consistent with age and previous use. The interior is clean and retains its attractive light natural pine finish. The hinged lid opens and closes correctly and the box remains solid and sound. Overall, a lovely example with a pleasing aged appearance.
