Victorian Silver Vinaigrette

Description

A fine example of a Victorian silver Vinaigrette with gilt lined interior and pierced grille. It is an attractive shape decorated with a delicate floral engraved pattern and the cartouche is engraved with initials. It has a loop for attaching to a chatelaine or fob chain.

It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1878 and the maker Hilliard & Thomason. It weighs approximately 25g.

It is in good condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. The hinges are in good order and the gilt interior is bright.
