Description

A wide Victorian hinged silver cuff with a beautiful hand engraved geometric and botanical design typical of the Aesthetic period (c.1885-1901). The bracelet has a lovely antique patina and we have not overpolished it; it may have been gilded at one time as it has a very slight golden cast rather than a super bright silver finish. A very wearable piece.

SIZE: Internal circumference is approximately seven inches (18cm); width 3.2cm.

WEIGHT: 33.7g.

MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Hallmarked for sterling silver, 1884, with the sponsor's mark RJD - likely Robert James Dick, a silversmith working out of Birmingham in the 1880s.

CONDITION: The bracelet is in excellent antique condition with minor surface wear consistent with normal usage for its age, a few minor dents on the back half but nothing significant. The clasp and hinge are in good working order.

ERA: 1884.
