Rare Cased Pair of Victorian Silver Sardine Servers by Henry Wilkinson, Sheffield 1897

Description

This exquisite and rare cased pair of Victorian silver sardine servers bears the marks of the renowned Henry Wilkinson and is dated Sheffield 1897. The pretty shaped handles with raised scroll edges and engraved foliate patterns to the heads. The set is free of any initials or monograms. The original presentation case fitted inside with black velvet and cream silk lining . The maroon outside with a push button catch to the front.

Hallmarks:

HW for Henry Wilkinson.

Lion Passant.

Sheffield Assay mark.

Date letter "e" for 1897.
