Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A French silver double condiment stand is a table accessory designed with two integrated receptacles to hold condiments such as salt, pepper, or mustard. Historically used in formal dining, these stands usually featured removable glass liners to protect the metal from corrosive salts and acids.

These stands are typically constructed from solid silver or silver-gilt, crafted using silversmithing techniques such as casting, chasing, and engraving. The interior receptacles commonly house hand-blown or cut clear glass liners.

Authentic French silver pieces carry official hallmark stamps, such as the Minerva head mark for 1st or 2nd standard silver introduced in 1838, or earlier regional punch marks. Look for makers marks within a diamond-shaped lozenge, alongside signs of hand-chased ornamentation and period glass fitting.

A silver condiment stand can be styled on a dining table or sideboard top as part of a formal table layout or vignette. It also functions well on a vanity tray or dressing table to hold small items like rings and ear studs.

Wash glass liners separately in warm soapy water using a mild detergent. Clean the silver stand with a soft cotton cloth and specialized silver polish, avoiding abrasive pads or submerging fixed components in harsh chemical dips that could strip aged oxidisation.
