Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, French glassmakers such as Baccarat produced decorative crystal tableware, vanity jars, and caskets. These pieces were designed for luxury dressing tables and reflected the refined craftsmanship of the Belle Epoque era.

Antique French crystal boxes were typically crafted from mouth-blown or moulded lead crystal, often featuring hand-cut geometric patterns or flashed coloured glass overlays. Metal components, such as hinges and rims, were usually made from gilded brass or ormolu.

Prior to 1936, Baccarat pieces were often marked with paper labels rather than acid-etched signatures, meaning many authentic early pieces are unmarked. Identification relies on examining the quality of the crystal, precise wheel-cut details, and period-accurate brass or bronze mounts.

Antique glass trinket boxes are commonly styled on bedroom bedside tables, dressing room trays, or bathroom shelves. They serve as functional containers for small items of jewellery while adding texture and reflective light to display surfaces.

Clean the glass gently using tepid water with mild dish soap and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking metal hinges or applying harsh chemical cleaners, as these can strip original patination or damage old adhesives.
