Early 20th-century Glazed Double Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

A fine early 20th-century glazed double bookcase of substantial construction, with slight Art Deco influence in the stepped outer stiles and arched lower supports.

Each glazed section contains two adjustable shelves behind single-pane glazed doors, with working locks and applied arcaded geometric moulding to the upper section. The bookcase is finished with a high-quality panelled back.

A useful, generously proportioned bookcase for a study, library or sitting room.

Condition Report

In good antique condition with minor marks commensurate with age and use. There are a few small chips to the top of the left stile. The lock to the right-hand door is a replacement and, while functional, can be slightly stiff.
