A Neapolitan Grand Tour bronze figural lamp of the Pompeii Silenus, by Giulio Amodio, Naples, late 19th Century, with arm aloft holding a coiled snake, with cast signature G. Amodio, Napoli to the circular base. 

62cm high (71cm including bulb fitting), 26cm diameter.

Giiulio Amodio was working in Naples in the second half of the 19th Century and is well known for his finely modelled and patinated bronze after the antique reproductions of sculptures found at Pompeiii and Herculaneum.
