Lovely George II Period Irish Carved Elm Stool C. 1750

£800    $1,072    €937
A very beautiful solid elm Irish stool made in c. 1750 with well carved ball and claw feet and original hand carved laurel, foliate scrolls and drop bell husks to the hips.

In very good condition and with all original timbers, the stool is robust and solid.

The seat pad has been newly upholstered in a high quality jacquard woven fabric of an antique gilt colour with fabric with a pattern in bronze and charcoal of winter trees.

A very good example, no worm, small scuffs, knocks and cracks consistent with age and use but none significant or noticeable or affecting use.

A really attractive mid 18th century vernacular stool in solid elm.

Dimensions are:

19 inches high, 22 inches deep and 15.5 inches wide (all max at hips).

I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.

I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
