A fantastic pair of vintage clip-on earrings by Marcel Boucher, a French jeweller who set up in New York from the 1920s and, having worked for high-end jewellery houses, went on to establish his own Marcel Boucher and Cie company in 1937 producing fine costume jewellery. The earrings have a typically flowing textured surface, each holding a long sabre-shaped piece of mother of pearl with a lovely pink-green iridescence.
SIZE: One of the earrings is 6cm long, the other 6.3cm.
WEIGHT: 16.5g.
MATERIALS: Gold-tone metal, mother of pearl.
HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Both earrings are stamped © BOUCHER. The clips are marked US PAT 2668341 - a patent which was granted in 1954, so indicating a manufacture date in the late 1950s-1960s.
CONDITION: In very good vintage condition with light surface wear and nice snappy clips.
ERA: Estimated 1950s/60s.
Antique and vintage boxes photographed are for display only and are not included unless stated in the description.
