Early Victorian Antique Silver Table Snuff Box, Edward Smith 1854

A very large Victorian antique silver table snuff box. Made in Birmingham in 1854 by Edward Smith who worked in Birmingham from 1820 to 1865 making very high quality boxes. This one has exquisite engraving of two steeplechase horses, very fine workmanship. In general the box is in outstanding condition with no damage or repairs. The 23 part hinge is tight and the lid closes beautifully. The interior is fully gilded with hallmarks on the top and bottom. One of the best boxes I have had.
