A fine example of an 18th-century opaque twist “Lynn” wine glass, dating to circa 1760.
Notably, there is also an air spiral within the stem, likely introduced inadvertently rather than as a true mixed air and opaque twist. The glass stands on a conical foot.

Lynn rings can be found on wine glasses, dram glasses, and tumblers. The term is generally believed to relate to King's Lynn in Norfolk, England, a historic centre of early English glass production and trade. However, the name likely developed among early collectors and dealers to describe rings thought to be typical of, or traded through, Lynn. Like many antique glass terms, it is traditional rather than formally documented.
