Victorian tableware frequently combined sterling silver mounts with heavily cut crystal glass, reflecting the periods preference for ornate dining accessories and elaborate tablescapes.

These items were typically crafted using sterling silver, often hallmarked for the assay office and maker, paired with heavy lead crystal that was wheel-cut by hand with geometric and floral patterns.

Authentic pieces bear clear silversmith hallmarks indicating the maker, date letter, and standard of silver, alongside the distinct weight and hand-cut precision of period crystal.

Such pieces can be utilised on a dining table or sideboard to hold small items or served desserts, adding reflective texture and historical contrast to contemporary schemes.

Clean sterling silver gently with a non-abrasive specialist polish, avoiding contact with the glass, and wash the crystal by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent.
