Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Napkin rings gained widespread popularity during the 19th century in Europe as a practical method for identifying individual cloth napkins between laundering. Sets stored in fitted presentation cases were commonly presented as formal wedding or anniversary gifts.

Victorian napkin rings were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, silver plate, or electroplated nickel silver, often featuring hand-engraved foliage, engine turning, or beaded borders, and housed in leather-bound cases lined with silk or velvet.

Authentic British sterling silver pieces feature a full set of official hallmarks, including the lion passant mark for silver purity, an assay office symbol, a date letter, and a makers mark.

Antique silver napkin rings add a refined historical contrast to contemporary table settings when paired with modern crisp linen napkins, neutral stoneware plates, and modern glassware.

Silver napkin rings should be polished gently with a specialised silver cloth or soft cotton rag, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and stored inside their original fabric-lined presentation case to limit tarnish and air exposure.
