Kingsdown Antiques has dated this Victorian Silver Lemonade Jug to the 1880s.
The inside of the hinged lid is stamped “Mappin & Webb’s Princes Plate London & Sheffield”.

An internal glass ice tube insert is included, intended to hold ice so lemonade can be chilled without dilution. The ice tube retains its matching silver plated collar and pull off lid, allowing it to be removed for cleaning and re-fitted for service – circa 1880

This is an ideal piece for summer entertaining, working equally well for lemonade, iced water, or fruit cordials.
