Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1920s and 1930s, the rise of cocktail culture led silversmiths and luxury retailers to produce specialised bar accessories. Cocktail picks were designed to hold fruit garnishes and olives, often styled with playful or geometric finials that reflected the contemporary Art Deco aesthetic.

Vintage cocktail sets were frequently crafted from sterling silver or electroplated nickel silver paired with clear or cut glass holders. The decorative finials were often constructed using painted enamel, phenolic resins such as Bakelite, or cast silver motifs.

Authentic British silver barware features official assay office hallmarks stamped into the metal, including a makers mark, purity mark, town mark, and date letter. For pieces produced in London in 1934, look for the leopards head mark alongside the corresponding date letter code.

A vintage cocktail pick set is ideally displayed on a styled drinks tray, sideboard, or cocktail cabinet alongside period decanters and glassware. Placing the small set on a tray highlights the silver hallmarks and coloured finials.

Clean the glass holder using warm water and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives. Wipe the silver elements gently with a silver polishing cloth, taking care not to submerge or polish painted or resin finials with harsh chemical cleaners.
