Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Victorian pine dressers were traditionally utilitarian pieces used in British kitchens and sculleries for storing crockery, glassware, and foodstuffs, prized for the robust nature of native and imported softwoods during the nineteenth century.

These cabinets are typically constructed from solid deal or Scots pine, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, tongue-and-groove panel backs, and traditional mortise-and-tenon framing for durability.

Authenticity is indicated by period construction methods such as hand-sawn timber marks, early flathead or handmade screws, old glass panes with natural imperfections, and genuine patination accumulated over generations of use.

A traditional pine dresser adds warmth and practical storage to contemporary spaces, serving as a functional display unit in a kitchen or dining room to showcase ceramics, glassware, or books.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent timber drying, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood surface without creating a synthetic buildup.
