Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Spanish enamel work from the mid-twentieth century often combined traditional metalworking techniques with modernist and folkloric artistic styles. Craftsmen frequently used silver or brass mounts to frame vitreous enamel panels, depicting stylized rural scenes, abstract forms, or historical motifs.

These boxes typically feature a solid hardwood base, such as walnut or mahogany, trimmed with a sterling silver or silver-plated metal border. The lid incorporates a powdered glass vitreous enamel panel fired onto a metal plate at high temperatures to create vivid colours.

Authentic pieces generally show silver hallmarks or maker stamps along the rim or underside. The enamel artwork displays characteristic mid-century stylistic elements, including black outline division (cloisonne or champleve techniques) and hand-applied coloured glass frits.

Place the box as a focal accent on a sideboard top, coffee table stack, or desk surface. Its rich narrative imagery and mixed materials complement contemporary wood finishes and modern decorative glassware.

Dust the surface with a soft, lint-free cloth. Clean the enamel gently using a lightly dampened cloth without harsh chemicals, and polish the silver edging using a dedicated silver cloth, taking care not to let polish contact the enamel or wood.
