An exceptional 18th century Georgian sterling silver tankard, crafted in solid .925 silver with a bright gilded interior, and hallmarked for Newcastle, 1774. Made by the respected Newcastle silversmith John Langlands, this is a fine example of provincial English silver with strong period presence and excellent collector appeal.

Classic George III baluster-form tankard, raised on a spread circular foot
Substantial, heavy-gauge sterling silver

Later-applied late Victorian (19th century) hand-chased floral and foliate ornament, featuring:

scrolling vines
garlands
Central vacant scrolled cartouche (never engraved)
