A substantial panelled oak coffer dating from circa 1900, featuring richly carved decorative detailing and geometric inlay to the front panels. The faēade is framed by bold foliate carving, with a continuous carved frieze and a further carved band running along the lower edge.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a generous storage interior, fitted with original iron hinges and retaining its interior chain support. The coffer stands on stout block legs, giving it a strong, architectural presence.
A highly decorative and practical antique coffer, suitable for use as blanket storage, hallway seating, or at the foot of a bed, and well suited to both traditional and period interiors.
