Georgian Silver Diamond Paste Drop Earrings

Pretty 18th-century silver drop earrings set with foiled pastes designed to imitate diamonds. (Diamonds and paste - crystal and later glass - were usually foil backed up till the mid-19th century to make them reflect the candlelight better.) It''s nice to see the typically Georgian enclosed backs and crimped collet settings, and all the stones are beautifully white and bright.
 
• Condition: The earrings are in very good antique condition, the wires are slightly bent.
 
• Hallmarks/stamps: None, tested as silver.
 
• Fixing: Silver ear wires, supplied with tiny silicone ''keepers'' to pop over the ends for security.
 
• Era: Estimated late Georgian-early Victorian (c.late 1700s-early 1800s).
 
• Size: Approximately 3cm from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the drop or 2.3cm without the wire. The top section is 5mm across, the bottom section 8mm.
 
• Weight: 2.7g.
