Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV furniture, spanning the 1830s, acts as a transitional period between Regency and early Victorian design, typically featuring robust proportions, classical motifs, and rich dark timbers such as rosewood and mahogany.

These pieces predominantly utilise dense tropical hardwoods like rosewood or mahogany, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, brass wire grilles, and hand-polished wax finishes.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct joinery, natural timber patination, genuine brass hardware without modern tooling marks, and construction characteristics consistent with early 19th-century cabinet making.

Pair the rich wood tones with neutral wall colours, mix in contemporary ceramic accessories, and use the glazed doors to display curated book collections or collectables to create a sophisticated focal point.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, keep the timber out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, and periodically nourish the wood with microcrystalline wax while avoiding silicone-based polishes.
