Technical Description
An outstanding pair of Victorian Shaft and Globe glass decanters dating to c1880.
They have their original hollow slice cut stoppers above slice and prism cut necks. A beautiful engraved band of Thistles, Roses and Clover around the shoulders with engraved stars below. Fine six point star cuts to the base.
Probably made in Scotland at the Holyrood glass works in Leith, the workmanship is exemplary, and similar decanters can be seen on page 300 (number 36 3rd from right bottom row) within Andy McConnell second book, ''The Decanter, Ancient To Modern'', published in 2018.
