Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often featured a revival of classical motifs, neoclassical influences, and clean Edwardian transitional designs executed in sterling silver.

These pieces typically consist of a thin sheet of sterling silver shaped over a wooden or composition core, backed with wood or velvet, and supported by a hinged easel strut.

Authenticity is verified through clear British hallmarks indicating the assay office, standard of silver (such as sterling lion passant), date letter, and makers mark.

Pairing metallic accents with neutral textures allows the reflective surface to add subtle brilliance without overwhelming modern minimalist spaces.

Maintain silver by using specialized non-abrasive silver cloths infrequently to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that strip historic oxidisation.
