Technical Description
An exceptional late 19th century Lobmeyer armorial wine goblet dating to c1890.
It has a round funnel bowl featuring an elaborate coat of arms. The central motif is a detailed armorial crest, a form of heraldry often used to represent a family, individual, or institution. The shield features a lion rampant holding an axe, topped by a helmet and a crowned crest with a similar lion and axe motif. The glass is further embellished with delicate floral and clover-like patterns in red, blue, orange, and white enamel.
It has a facet cut shoulder ring above an annulated central knop and solid flute cut foot with a polish pontil.
An exceptional piece.
