Description

A class vintage solitaire ring featuring an unheated star sapphire from Ceylon. The sapphire holds a light, greyish blue background colour and displays a strong and clear asterism. Rubover set in 18k yellow gold, and leading to a slender 18k yellow gold shank which tapers at the shoulders.

Accompanied by an independent jewellery report from WGI, stating the sapphire is unheated and originates from Sri Lanka (Ceylon).

Cut: Round cabochon.

Colour: Greyish blue.

Clarity: Moderately included.

Carat: Approximately 4.25.

Circa: 1950.

Size: N (UK) or 6 1/2 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements: The sapphire is approximately 8.6mm in diameter. Sits 7.0mm from the finger.

Weight: 4.10 grams.

Metal: 18k gold. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
