An exceptional 19th century glass rummer dating to c1890.
It has a large bucket bowl engraved around the rim with a fine band of hops and barley sheaves. Wide flute cutting to the base above an annular knop stem and conical foot.

However, to find this decoration on a large rummer is exceptionally rare. There are almost 350 sold rummers from the 19th century on our web site but only TWO have hop and Barley engravings. We've always found this rarity strange, in as much as the rummer form is an ideal glass for beer. You would think that many Rummers were used for Ale, but the engravings don’t back that up.
