Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V period spans from 1910 to 1936, characterised by a continuation of Edwardian elegance alongside the early adoption of cleaner, neoclassical revival lines and traditional craftsmanship.

These items typically combine clear blown or cut crystal glass bodies with sterling silver mounts, rims, lids, and accompanying condiment spoons.

Authenticity is verified through standard British hallmark stamps on the silver components, which include the makers mark, the town assay office mark (such as the anchor for Birmingham), a standard fineness mark, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year.

They function well as reflective tabletop accents on sideboards or dining tables, introducing tactile historical elements and metallic contrast to modern minimalist settings.

Sterling silver should be cleaned periodically using a non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that damage the metal and patina, while glass bodies should be washed in warm, soapy water.
