'Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics.'

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

1960s jewellery design often featured organic, asymmetrical forms, fluid ribbon motifs, and dense cluster settings of contrasting precious gemstones, reflecting a shift towards expressive statement pieces.

High-grade fine jewellery from this period typically incorporates 14ct or 18ct white gold or platinum settings, housing precious gems such as emeralds, diamonds, sapphires, and rubies cut in marquise, baguette, and brilliant cuts.

Authentic pieces generally display period hallmark stamps indicating gold purity, refined claw settings, structural multi-tiered metalwork, and characteristic stone cuts such as marquise or baguette styles.

A vintage brooch can be styled on suit lapels, attached to silk scarves, pinned to the waistline of an evening gown, or used to embellish structured outerwear for a contemporary look.

Emeralds require delicate care; clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and mild soapy water, avoiding ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the gemstones natural inclusions.
