Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 1900s.
A handsome English revolving bookcase of good scale and elegant patina.

A well constructed bookcase, possibly by Maple and Co., made from quarter sawn English oak, structurally excellent and stable, a 109cm tall example which suggests a large country house or possible school or public library.

Presented in mostly excellent condition, structurally and operationally excellent, please note the brass castors are later but professionally fitted sometime in the 20th century and 1 of the vertical strips is missing, otherwise perfect.
