Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

French Neoclassical lamps from the 18th and 19th centuries typically feature classical vase or urn shapes, incorporating rich marble bases adorned with finely cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts such as floral festoons and mask handles.

These lighting fixtures were crafted by combining carved and polished natural marble with lost-wax cast bronze elements. The bronze was gilded using mercury or electroplating techniques to achieve a gold finish before being fitted to the marble body.

Authentic period pieces exhibit heavy cast bronze with sharp, hand-chased detailing, natural vein variations in the stone, and evidence of historic conversion from oil or fluid burners to electricity.

Position a pair on a symmetrical sideboard, console table, or bedside cabinets to add visual weight, rich texture, and classical elegance that contrasts clean modern lines.

Dust the gilt bronze gently with a soft dry brush to preserve the delicate gilding, and wipe the marble using a slightly damp cloth with neutral soap, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes.
