Technical Description

A superb English lead mid 18th-century Export wine glass in pale green. It has a cup bowl above a three hollow knopped stem and domed foot.

These glasses were made in England for export into the European market.

Date & Origin

England, c1750. George II

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips, cracks, or restoration. The crease tool mark in the foot is from manufacture and doesn't effect the glass in any way.

Height: 16.6 cm

Rim Diameter: 6 cm

Foot diameter: 7.3 cm.

Historical Context

Hand-blown around the time of The French and Indian War from 1754 to 1763. Fought between the colonies of British America and those of New France.
