Mary Gregory glass refers to glassware decorated with white enamel silhouettes of children, foliage, or landscapes, popularized in the late 19th century.

These items are typically crafted from coloured glass blown into moulds, then hand-painted with white enamel to create the characteristic opaque figures and foliage details.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-blown glass characteristics such as pontil marks, slightly uneven thickness, and genuine enamel wear consistent with age, rather than modern transfer prints.

Place the jar on a vanity table, open shelving, or a chest of drawers to introduce vintage texture, historical colour, and a delicate focal point to the room.

Clean the piece gently using a soft, dry cloth or lukewarm water with mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the painted enamel surface.
