A beautiful mint sterling silver early Victorian card case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1855 with the makers mark being that Edward Smith. It has been superbly made been finely engraved with the cartouche bearing the initials HCC. Note it is left handed - the hinge being on the right. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It closes surely. It measures 3.25 inches (8.3cms) tall by 2 inches (5.2cms) wide and weighs 36 grams. A superbly designed beautifully clean example.
